2024 Malbec

The wine exhibits ripe blackcurrant fruit with earthy graphite mineral overtones, cradled by exceptionally fine tannins and integrated French oak. A distinct mineral complexity is derived from the rocky granitic soils of the Leeuwin Ridge.

The 2024 vintage was a rewarding year with dry weather and low disease pressure. A cool start to spring led to delayed budburst followed by a gentle ripening period. The reds finished with wonderful fruit intensity and elegantly structured tannins. Another great season for the Margaret River region.

Fruit was hand-harvested on 20 March 2023 and immediately de-stemmed to an open fermenter and co-inoculated with selected yeast and malolactic bacteria strains. The ferment was gently pumped over daily for a period of 15 days until dry, and then pressed to seasoned French oak barriques. The wine matured in oak for a period of 15 months prior to to racking, filtering, and bottling in July 2024.
