Tasting Notes

This single vineyard Malbec exhibits ripe aromas of dark berries, chocolate and violets, a rich mouthful of plush dark fruits on the palate cradled with velvety tannins. The soft natural acidity makes the wine readily approachable now, but it will reward careful cellaring for 5+ years.
Season

The 2023 vintage was a rewarding year with dry weather and low disease pressure. A cool start to spring led to delayed budburst followed by a gentle ripening period. The reds finished with wonderful fruit intensity and elegantly structured tannins. Another great season for the Margaret River region.
Vinification

Fruit was hand-harvested on 20 March 2023 and immediately de-stemmed to an open fermenter and co-inoculated with selected yeast and malolactic bacteria strains. The ferment was gently pumped over daily for a period of 15 days until dry, and then pressed to seasoned French oak barriques. The wine matured in oak for a period of 15 months prior to to racking, filtering, and bottling in July 2024.
