The team at Grace Farm Wines is thrilled to announce the completion of yet another successful vintage! The 2023 season has been nothing short of spectacular, particularly for the white varieties. The Viticulturist, Tim Quinlan, has shared his thoughts on the season, and we're excited to share them with you.
Savour the taste of summer all year round with our latest release, a crisp and refreshing chardonnay. The subtle oak, lovely fruit characters and saline acidity make the 2022 Chardonnay an excellent food wine. Try it with Sal’s Pasta alla Gricia, which has become a Mair family favourite.
To coincide with the start of a new year, we are delighted to release our 2022 Sauvignon Blanc Semillon. The season was an exceptional year for aromatic white grapes. The 2022 blend is 62% sauvignon blanc and 38% semillon. The vintage produced fruit with lifted florals, good palate weight and fresh fruit flavours with aromas of passionfruit, lemon blossom and guava. The palate is well supported by a delicate mineral acidity that drives the wine and provides a long crisp finish.
The Giant Spider Orchid or Caladenia excelsa now features on Grace Farm’s label. This rare orchid, whose flowers are the biggest of any spider orchid, can be found along the Leeuwin Ridge in spring. Like our wine, the Caladenia excelsa is local in character, rare in beauty and elegant in profile.
Our first, small-batch Malbec was unplanned, but has turned out to be one of the finest wines to emerge from Grace Farm. In winemaking it's important to have the flexibility to embrace what seasonal shifts offer. Read about how the 2017 Malbec came into existence.
